Buy truffles online here the way the grower sells them: fresh black truffle, Tuber melanosporum, as whole pieces, by weight.
There is no basket with a fixed price per unit, because no two truffles weigh the same. You ask for a weight and a grade, and the real piece is confirmed with you before payment.
A typical household order is somewhere between 50 and 100 grams.
Why there is no basket
A truffle is a single piece with its own weight. Selling it as if it were a packet of fixed size would mean cutting pieces to fit, and a cut truffle loses most of its value.
So the order works the other way round. You say roughly what you want, and we say exactly what we have.
How an online order is placed
The whole process is three steps, and payment is the last one.
- You send the grade, the approximate weight and the date you need it, through the contact form.
- We reply with the pieces available from the current harvest, their real weight and the price for that weight.
- You confirm, and only then is the order paid and prepared.
How much to order for a household
The grower describes the direct sale to private customers as something that happens mostly online, in orders of fifty or a hundred grams.
That is enough for several meals. Grated finely, a few grams per person flavour a plate of pasta or eggs, and a fresh truffle is used within days, not weeks.
Which grade to pick when ordering online
Extra is the round, whole piece without cosmetic damage. First and Second are the same truffle in a less regular shape, and they cost less.
If you will grate or slice the truffle into a dish, First or Second gives the same aroma for less money. Extra is for when the whole piece is going to be seen.
What is confirmed before you pay
Three things: the species, the grade and the real weight of each piece. The destination is confirmed at the same time, because fresh truffle is perishable and not every route is possible.
No weight is charged that you have not agreed to, and an order is never made up with trimmings to reach a number.

Can I order truffles online outside the season?
Fresh Tuber melanosporum is only available from December to April. Outside those months, the wholesale pages list the preserved and frozen formats that keep all year.
Is there a minimum order?
Orders are sold by the piece and by weight. Tell us the weight you have in mind and we will tell you which pieces match it.
